The Haifa District Court today (Monday) sentenced 14 young people from the Kiryat Yam to 14 years in prison for killing 19-year-old Kiryat Yam resident Meir Salomon.

The two defendants, 21-year-old Avtam Tora from Kiryat Motzkin and 23-year-old Mor Crispy from Kiryat Yam, were charged with the murder of Salomon in 2018, after they abducted him from his parents' home amid a financial dispute.



The two were convicted of manslaughter, which was converted to murder, and kidnapping, according to their confession.

However, under a plea bargain between their defenders Haifa District Attorney's office, and despite the strong objections of the parents of the deceased, represented by attorney Tomer Ben Hamo. The transaction includes the prosecution sought to cut sentences of 15 years each.



The judges Avraham Elyakim, proper palm fruit And Ronit Bash, also sentenced them to two years probation, and compensation in the amount of NIS 125,000 from each of them to the Salomon family.

The background to the incident, which took place on August 26, 2018, was a financial debt of several thousand shekels that Salomon owed them.

According to the original indictment, the two, who have a rich criminal record, came to the development of the Salomon family's apartment in Kiryat Yam and called on Salomon to open the door.

When they entered the apartment, they strangled and beat him, threatening him in front of his terrified family members.

They later abducted him from the house, dragged him from the building, and during a taxi ride they had ordered ahead of time, continued to beat him.

They arrived at Crispy's home in Kiryat Yam, where the two continued to beat Salomon all over his body, until they caused his death.

His body was discovered the next morning naked in a truck parking lot near Kiryat Haim Stadium.

Tora and Crispy then fled, hiding in Ashkelon and Yavniel.

They were arrested ten days later, and have since been held in custody.
