Free tests, without appointment and without a prescription, will take place Thursday and Friday in the municipalities of Bergues, Cappelle-Brouck, Dunkirk and Wormhout to "

facilitate access to the test as close as possible to the living or working places of residents

», Announced the ARS of Hauts-de-France in a press release.

In addition, 2,400 doses of Moderna vaccine, from the “

regional security stock

”, “

will be allocated to the urban community of Dunkirk and the Hauts-de-Flandre commune community

”, intended primarily for “

people vulnerable to home,

”adds the ARS.

These measures will be accompanied by the presence of mediators in Dunkirk, who will offer in particular antigen tests, tracing for positive people, and "

personalized support

".

The surroundings of Dunkirk have known for several days a worsening of the epidemic situation, marked by a significant proportion of cases of British variant with "

more than 70% of positive RT-PCR tests in certain laboratories

".

This situation can be explained by "

the proximity of England

", indicated at the microphone of France Bleu Nord the mayor (DVG) of Dunkirk Patrice Vergriete.

He denounced the State's failure to take into account the situation in his metropolitan area, after the prefecture decided to keep schools, colleges and high schools open.

It thus rejected a request from the mayors of the urban community of Dunkirk to close secondary schools one week before the school holidays and to give the possibility of waiving compulsory education for primary.

But the arrival and exit of classes have been postponed from Monday in nursery and elementary schools, while colleges and high schools now operate "

in mixed mode (face-to-face / distance)

".

In the primary, "

it was not observed significant absenteeism

" following these measures, said the prefecture.

In secondary education, the establishments organize face-to-face and distance courses alternating according to the days and classes, specified the academic inspectorate.

The prefecture had alerted Saturday to a situation which "

deteriorated suddenly

", with "

an incidence rate of 515 cases per 100,000 inhabitants against 384

" the previous week.
