The strike seems to have taken hold.
The movement among RATP bus drivers, initiated by the CGT, is relatively little followed.
"The traffic is normal or almost normal on the entire bus network", we told the management of RATP on Monday.
The CGT called for a strike to protest against the return of ticket sales on board buses.
A decision that puts the machinists at risk, denounces the union.
It is indeed again possible to sell tickets in the 4,700 RATP buses in circulation in Paris and in the suburbs, since Monday.
Sale on board was suspended for health reasons at the start of the Covid pandemic last March.
It therefore resumes today, despite this union protest.
The CGT however avails itself of the support of the labor inspectorate.
In a letter dated February 8, which we have read, the latter considers this decision "incomprehensible since it is likely to expose drivers to an increased risk of contamination", in the "worrying" context of the new variants more contagious.
Less than 2% of on-board sales
RATP, for its part, recalls that the other bus operators in the outer suburbs (Keolis and Transdev) "have already resumed this sale on board at the request of Ile-de-France Mobilités".
And, "since the start of the health crisis, we have put in place reinforced measures for cleaning and daily nebulization in the buses", details the management.
In addition, “the anti-aggression windows” which protect the drivers are always present in the buses.
The RATP also specifies that less than 2% of ticket sales are made on board and that the health context has generated a drop in traffic of around 30% on the buses.
Apart from the counters, you can also buy your ticket individually by text message.
You must send to 93100, the keyword "BUS" attached to the number of the line of the bus to borrow (example: BUS63, BUS24…).
