»WHEN DO WE VOTE?

Initially scheduled in March, these simultaneous local elections were postponed to

Other dates had to be adjusted via a bill:

candidacies

could be submitted no later than Monday, May 10, at noon;

the

election campaign

, which will last a week longer than expected, will begin on Monday, May 24.

But a new postponement, feared by opposition parties, could be decided in the event of a deterioration in the health situation, on the basis of a report that the government must submit to Parliament by

April 1

at the latest.

»WHO IS

ELECTED?

The voters will designate:

  • social assistance, including child protection and active solidarity income (RSA);

- the 165

At the end of these ballots, the elected representatives will then designate a president in each assembly.

They will remain in office for 6 years and 9 months, until March 2028 - a year more than expected, so as not to interfere with the presidential elections of April and May 2027.
