A turf war for a point of deal?

Unlikely.

A settling of scores to wash away an affront?

More likely.

But it is not certain that the trial, which opened on Monday, before the Hauts-de-Seine Assize Court, to be quickly suspended for a suspicion of infection with Covid-19, brings the real answers.

Not sure that the defendants explain the motive for the murder of Bilel B., killed by a bullet in the head on September 20, 2017, in Asnières-sur-Seine, place Le Vau.

First, only one of the three accused is for having fired.

And since since his arrest and until the end of the investigation, this young man, now 27, denies having fired, it would be surprising if he changed his version in the first days of his trial.

Moussa D. admits his presence at Place Le Vau in the afternoon of September 20, with his friends Ibrahim M. and Tapsirou B. But no more.

The friends, them, are judged for "evading a criminal from arrest and research", in other words for having helped Moussa D. in his run.

It is precisely one of these two men, who is at the origin of the suspension of the hearing, this Monday morning.

He had to take an antigen test at a neighborhood pharmacy.

The result being negative, the trial was able to really begin in the early afternoon to address the facts.

A Beretta in a charred car

On the day of the tragedy, around 4.30 p.m., Bilel B., 26, left his home in Bois-Colombes for Place Le Vau, in the Courtilles district in Asnières.

This is not the neighborhood in which he has his habits.

All the less since the end of July, after he was violently attacked during a brawl in this same place.

This September 20, 2017, an hour after his arrival at the foot of the building bar bordering this square, the young man was shot in the head.

The warhead entered through the neck and affected several parts of the brain.

People rescued him, including the accused Ibrahim M., who performed cardiac massage.

The firefighters took over, transported the young man in critical condition to hospital.

Twenty-four later, Bilel B. passed away there.

A few meters from where the victim collapsed, police found a hit 9mm holster.

A bullet had passed through the windshield of a Mercedes in front of which Bilel was shot.

A little further on, a semi-automatic Beretta was hidden in the wreckage of a charred car.

According to ballistic analyzes, it was probably Bilel who used this weapon.

The one who killed him, however, has never been discovered.

"Go on Moussa, get out!"

Before identifying Moussa D. and his friends, the investigators of the judicial police have multiplied the hearings of witnesses.

Some heard only one shot, others two or three, or even four.

The first name of Moussa, this guy from Colombes familiar with Place Le Vau, quickly appeared.

You would have heard him scream "I got it, I got it!"

He would be this suspect observed fleeing the crime scene, probably with a weapon in his hand and accompanied by Ibrahim and Tapsirou.

Another resident interviewed heard one of the friends say to Moussa: “Go ahead, Moussa, get out!

These testimonies collected by the investigators were partly under X, that is to say under anonymity.

The genetic analyzes on clues taken at the scene of the crime and the demarcation of the phones of each other made it possible to identify the trio.

But Moussa D. remained untraceable for several months.

Always thanks to the demarcation, the police showed that he joined Le Havre (Seine-Maritime) for a while, with his two friends, to then hide in Gennevilliers, in a sublet apartment on avenue de Chandon, where will be discovered a shotgun.

The young man was arrested four months after the murder, in Orly (Val-de-Marne), as he was preparing to embark for Dakar, Senegal.

A brawl a few weeks earlier

Moussa D., presented by some witnesses as the head of the deal at Le Vau, had a problem with Bilel, it seems certain.

If not for the hash market in the neighborhood, it's at least for the mess at the end of July.

Bilel would have tried to resolve a conflict between a relative and young people from the Courtilles.

He was then severely assaulted, to the point of being hospitalized.

The video of his attack circulated on social networks, supreme humiliation ... It turns out that the three defendants tried this week by the Assize Court are no strangers to this brawl in July.

The trial is to last the whole week.

Moussa D. risks thirty years of imprisonment, his friends three years.
