Until recently, hardly anyone knew the "Media Watchdogs of Sweden", either in Sweden or outside of Sweden.
Only a few hundred interested people followed the self-appointed "media watchdog" on Twitter.
Around 200 activists and members communicate with one another in English in a closed Facebook group.
Most of them are academics, including Swedish scientists and many immigrants from EU countries.
But since last week, the small organization has been the focus of a bitter dispute.
The question is: Is sharp criticism of the Corona policy, combined with contacts abroad, a threat to the freedom of Swedish society?
"The Swedish nation as brainwashed victim"
The debate was triggered by a radio show entitled "Hidden Facebook Group Troubles Experts".
For the 20-minute contribution, broadcast in the public service program, the journalists evaluated the public Twitter posts and internal Facebook communication of the »Watchdogs« and had them analyzed by experts.
Result: "Tone and methods are worrying."
