SWAT, RAID, BRI, GSPR ... Almost each of them has its own unity watch, a symbol of belonging to these exceptional groups.
In France, the GIGN was the first unit in France to have the idea of partnering with a watchmaking house, so that each of its members could wear a watch in its colors.
Since the 2000s, more than fifteen brands have already worked for and with the intervention group of the national gendarmerie, from Breitling to Ebel or Bell & Ross, including MAT Watches, Ralf Tech, BRM, G- Shock, Rolex and, most recently, Panerai.
It is now the turn of LIP, which continues to win back the hearts of watch enthusiasts in France, to become the official watchmaker of GIGN.
A first model had already been presented a few months ago, in collaboration with the GIGN antenna in Dijon.
This time, a Nautic-GIGN will be available on March 15th.
Produced in a limited and numbered series of 1973 copies - year of creation of the group - it is offered at 690 euros in a specific box bearing the GIGN badge.
The famous diving watch made in Besançon, once worn by Eric Tabarly as well as by the crew of Commander Cousteau, has been revised and corrected for the occasion in order to meet the specific needs of the elite unit.
Its discreet 41mm “MR73” steel compressor case with its black finish with blue reflections is inspired by the legendary Manurhin MR73, still used for the famous confidence shot.

This Nautic-GIGN will therefore now equip all members of the Group, from the historic Satory headquarters to all regional and overseas branches.
