Following worldwide protests against a decision by the International Criminal Court in The Hague that it has the authority to investigate alleged war crimes committed by Israel, the organization has released a document clarifying the meaning of the process and answering accusations, including those of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The document, which includes questions and answers, claims that the decision is not of a political nature, because "the plaintiff addressed the legal issue of the territory, which includes the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem, subject to international law and the court's jurisdiction. Of the territory requires further clarification. "

In direct response to Netanyahu's remarks, it said: "The court is an independent and impartial judicial body that serves as a critical tool to provide a legal solution to the most serious crimes under international law. The International Criminal Court operates only under the legal framework of the Rome Convention, which gave it its powers." .

The document chose to state that the decision is subject to appeal and explains the conditions necessary to appeal the decision.

The document also states at length that the court's decision does not constitute a decision to conduct any investigation and that the attorney general of the tribunal will be required to decide whether to conduct such an investigation.

It was further argued that even in the case of an investigation, it would not be limited to one side of the conflict and the actions of Palestinian factions, including Hamas and Islamic Jihad, would be investigated on suspicion of war crimes.

Last week, Prime Minister Netanyahu condemned the tribunal's decision, saying: "When the International Court of Justice in The Hague investigates Israel for completely false war crimes, it is refined anti-Semitism. This tribunal was established to prevent atrocities like the Nazi Holocaust against the Jewish people. The unit of the Jewish people. "
