On Monday evening (February 15, 2021) there was "a massive number of traffic accidents in a very short time due to slippery roads," said a police spokesman on Tuesday morning (February 15, 2021).

rain

Weather in Hesse and Lower Saxony: DWD publishes severe weather warning
+++ 10:19 p.m.:
The
German Weather Service
has
lifted
the storm warning for the city and district of Kassel, the Schwalm-Eder district and the Waldeck-Frankenberg district.
However, caution is still required, the streets and sidewalks remain smooth.
The official warning of black ice in warning level 2 is initially valid until Tuesday (February 16, 2021).

Weather in Lower Saxony and Hesse: DWD raises warning level - black ice risk
