(CNN) -
US President Joe Biden answers questions from Americans as the nation aims to contain the coronavirus pandemic, reopen schools and revive the economy.
Biden said that covid-19 vaccines will be widely available to the general public in late July during the first forum of his presidency.
"By the end of July we will have more than 600 million doses, enough to vaccinate all Americans," Biden told CNN's Anderson Cooper.
Biden noted that there were only 50 million doses available when he took office.
Biden said it implemented the Defense Production Act to secure "the build piece for more equipment."
He explained that one of the main obstacles to injecting the vaccine into people was the lack of vaccines.
Biden said he issued a decree to increase the number of vaccinators.
“We have now made significant progress in increasing the number of vaccinators.
I issued a decree allowing former retired doctors and nurses to do so.
We have more than a thousand soldiers ... We have gotten the National Guard to commit ... they have opened a considerable number of places where you can receive the vaccine, "he said.
