The Department of Health announced today (17th) 16 new confirmed cases of new pneumonia. Of the 12 local infections, 10 were of unknown origin.
A chef from Tsuen Wan Duhao Xiaochucha Restaurant and a kitchen employee of Alai Southeast Asian Cuisine in Mong Kok were diagnosed.
The Center for Health Protection updated the patient’s home and whereabouts information at night. Fook Lam Gate and Wah Bao Building Hong Kong Hotel on Kimberley Road in Tsim Sha Tsui were also on the list. Another patient reported that he had been to Maxim Palace in Sha Tin Town Hall.
Among the 10 new cases of unknown origin, a 33-year-old chef from Duhao Xiaochu Restaurant on Hai Pa Street, Tsuen Wan, was diagnosed (case 10800). He became ill on the first day of the new year (12th). He still visited the restaurant yesterday. The 11 employees of the shop must be quarantined.
Another confirmed 41-year-old chef (case 10801) worked in Alai Southeast Asian Cuisine at Kwong Wah Street, Mong Kok. He became ill on the 30th (11th) of the year and 9 people were required to be quarantined.
A 32-year-old male patient (Case 10809) living in High View Terrace, Jordan is also a case of unknown origin. He had been to Fook Lam Moon, Kimberley Road, Tsim Sha Tsui and Warburg, Tsim Sha Tsui on the second day (13th) and third day (14th) Building Hong Kong old hotel.
In addition, Sham Shui Po Castle Peak Road Snow Mountain Ice Hall, Sha Tin Town Hall Maxim's Palace, Goku Ting Street, Yuen Long, and Yangcheng Hot Pot Seafood Restaurant at Fu Tai Shopping Centre in Tuen Mun also made the list.
