In addition to Germany, numerous other European countries are also relying on a lockdown in the pandemic.
Corona mutations are a central problem: How the infection process is on site.
The
Corona
pandemic
* counter numerous
neighboring states
of Germany with a
lockdown
.
However, new
mutants of
the
Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus
are also circulating in many places
.
Compared to
Germany
, there are some differences in the
pandemic
strategy.
Frankfurt - When the news of a virus * spreading in Wuhan was
circulating
in
Germany
at the end of 2019
, very few thought that the Federal Republic of Germany would be in the
second lockdown of
a pandemic in
mid-February 2021
.
This was limited to the beginning of March *, but
the focus
is on the dependence on the
infection process
.
The numbers of new infections are currently positive *, they are falling steadily - there are only a few outliers.
Politicians of the grand coalition never tire of emphasizing
that this is the result of the
strict lockdown
.
But not only Germany has
imposed
a
lockdown
, some neighboring countries as well.
The

how the
corona situation
, the
infection process
and how new
mutants are
dealt

Corona in France: The situation is tense
Unlike in Germany, where now
new infections
in the low four figures are announced, is the situation in
France
,
with a population of 67 million people, more strained.
The French health authorities regularly report around 20,000 new
corona infections
- and the trend is rising.
There is a
curfew on site
from 6 p.m.
Although there is no obligation to work from home, an urgent recommendation has been made.
Despite worse Corona values than in Germany, France has left
schools
and
daycare centers open
since the summer
.
However, stricter rules also apply there, such as the wearing of
medical masks
for children from the age of six.
Jean Castex, French Prime Minister, recently said of the
lockdown
that "the economic, social, human and sometimes even health consequences are known".
Resolving the current solution was the last resort for politicians to
curb
the
infection rate
.
Despite the higher number of
new infections
, one aspect distinguishes
France
from
Germany
.
The
death rate
of Covid-19 sufferers is there
about
40 percent lower
.
One possible explanation for this is the fact that France
carries out
almost
twice
as many
corona tests
and diseases can be detected earlier.
This is what the "German Press Agency" reports.

The circulating
corona mutants are
making themselves felt in
France
.
Between 20 and 25 percent of the
new infections
last week were due to the Sars-CoV-2 variant from
Great Britain
.
The variants from
Brazil
and
South Africa
, on the other hand, only account for between four and five percent of infections.
Clément Beaune, French State Secretary for European Affairs, is concerned about the rapid spread of the new virus - and warns of
“nasty surprises”
, for example at the borders.
That is why he is in lively exchange with the Prime Ministers of Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland.

Corona in the Czech Republic: high numbers of infections
In the
Czech Republic,
the
infection
situation
initially appears
to be similar to that in France.
For weeks, the health authorities have been reporting
new infections
between 15,000 and 17,000.
However, these case numbers are much more dramatic for the Czech Republic, as the population is much smaller.
Almost eleven million people live
in the
Czech Republic
.
There is currently a
lockdown
situation there as well: mask requirement indoors and outdoors, night curfew, closed retail outlets, entry freeze.
The government only
imposed
a new two-week state of emergency in the
Czech Republic
at the beginning of the week
.
In this way, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš hopes to get the infection process under control.
Several virus variants of
Sars-CoV-2
are already circulating
in the
Czech Republic
.
The authorities are particularly concerned about the
mutant
from
Great Britain
, which accounts for a large part of the new infections caused by the mutation.
"The situation is not good, a very contagious
British Corona mutant is
spreading across the country," said Prime Minister Babiš on Monday (February 15, 2021).
Germany has now
declared the
Czech Republic a
virus mutation
area.

Corona in Austria: expansion of the test strategy instead of lockdown
Austria
softened
the
lockdown
about a week ago:
schools
,
hairdressers
and
shops
are fully open again.
Entry requirements for
schools
and
hairdressers
, defined as "body-hugging services", are a
negative corona test.
While the number of reported new corona infections in November 2020 was still at a record level, it has been falling steadily since then.
Now only between 1200 and 1500 new infections are reported daily.
This number has to be assessed in the context of the significantly fewer citizens compared to Germany, almost nine million people.
The gastronomy, however, remains closed for the time being.
The government is currently thinking aloud about further easing from Easter.
Compared to Germany,
Austria
relies on a different approach to the pandemic.
Instead of
incidence value
in the country to push as low as possible, which were
testing capacity
significantly increased.
As long as the values level off and remain stable, this strategy will last, according to the Austrian health authorities.
More than
1.5 million people have been
tested
in
Austria
since the
corona easing
.
"We are among the countries that test the most in Europe," said Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz recently, as reported by the Austrian news agency "APA".
So-called
"living room tests"
are to support the strategy from March
.
These are
rapid tests
for at home, which should also be available in Germany from March.
Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn * announced this on Tuesday (February 16, 2021).
However, the
corona tests at
home are only used for your own control.
They are not suitable as a template for attending school.

Corona mutants
are
also an issue
in
Austria
.
The
British
and
South African variants in
particular are
spreading in the country.
Care should be taken, stressed Chancellor Kurz on Monday evening.

Corona in the Netherlands: mutants are spreading
In the
Netherlands, there
is currently a
lockdown
.
Public life is very restricted until the end of February.
Although the number of new infections is falling, the authorities are critical of the situation.
The night curfew was therefore recently extended to the beginning of March.
In contrast, the elementary schools were relaxed.
Face-to-face classes have been taking place again since Monday (February 15, 2021).
Regardless of
Corona restrictions,
the Netherlands is daring a
pilot project
in the event sector.
Theater and cabaret shows should take place in front of spectators.
Audiences should also be allowed in football stadiums, under extensive hygiene concepts.
A negative corona test is required for entry.
This is reported by the Dutch news agency "ANP".
In the Netherlands too,
corona mutants
are playing an increasingly important role in terms of new infections.
Local authorities estimate that around half of the new infections are due to
different variants
, mainly the
UK one
.
However, precise data is still lacking.
Several studies are to investigate the field, as reported by the "German Press Agency".

Corona in Denmark: Lockdown despite falling numbers
Denmark will
tighten the
corona measures
in the country
from Wednesday (February 17th, 2021)
.
The reason for this are
circulating mutants
.
This mainly applies to the variants from
South Africa
and
Great Britain
.
According to information from the Danish health institute "SSI", more than every fourth sample of the virus is now contaminated by the British mutant.
The new rules particularly affect commuters who are now only allowed to present a three-day-old corona test for entry.
“It is important that people who live and work in the border region can cross the border,” emphasized the Danish Health Minister Magnus Heunicke - and added: “But it is also important to protect Denmark against virus variants that create greater uncertainty in the epidemic. "
The number of
corona cases has been
developing
positively since December last year
- regardless of the
mutant
circulating
.
At that time, 4,000 new infections were reported daily, now it is often between 500 and 1,000. In this case, too, it is important that almost six million people live in Denmark, not more than 83 million as in Germany.
The Danish health authorities provide an overview of the corona situation on site.
Corona in Poland: mutants hardly play a role
In
Poland
, the number of
corona cases is
also
developing
positively, but at a higher level than in Denmark.
Around 7,000
new infections
occur every day among almost 38 million people living in Poland
.
The health authorities report this regularly.
The country recently decided to ease some corona easing.
Cinemas, ski areas and hotels are allowed to reopen.
As a result, numerous events are very popular: Violations have already occurred there. *
The reopenings are part of a two-week
test phase
.
The
infection
process
should then be
reassessed.
The Polish government hopes that the easing will in particular revitalize the local economy, as the Polish news agency "PAP" reports.
The government around Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki remains cautious about the corona mutants.
A ten-day quarantine is necessary after entering Poland.
Corona in Belgium: Decline in the number of infections
In
Belgium
, the health authorities are seeing a decrease in the number of
infections
.
These are at a similar level as in Germany, although in this case the population size must also be put in relation.
Around eleven and a half million people live in Belgium.
Compared to Germany, the number of infections is still at a critical level, despite the decline.
In contrast to the falling number of
new infections
, the
death rate
among those affected is
increasing
.
Several Belgian media report this unanimously.
Meanwhile, the situation regarding
corona mutants
in
Belgium is
unclear.
Several cases have already been reported, but no clear studies exist yet.
The Belgian health authority describes the general, pandemic situation in Belgium in an overview.
Corona in Luxembourg: increasing numbers - measures extended
Luxembourg
recently extended
the
corona measures
until mid-March.
There, too, rising incidences are the reason.
Regardless of the
infection rate
and the Corona restrictions, retail and cultural institutions have been
open again
in
Luxembourg
since January 11th
.
According to reports from the national health laboratory,
the British
Corona mutant
is mainly
circulating in
Luxembourg
in three different mutations.
So far, those affected have been individual cases.
However, the Ministry of Health warns about the spread of the mutant.
It is important to
continue to comply with the
hygiene measures
currently in force
and to reduce contacts, emphasized a spokesman.
You can watch the development of the mutant very closely, it said.
