The Committee for Martyrs and War Victims Affairs in the People's Assembly discussed today the issues related to the affairs of students who are families of martyrs, wounded and missing soldiers in universities and the legislative decrees and decisions related to them.

The members of the committee presented interventions and proposals to provide more facilities for this segment in terms of administrative transactions that take place in the Ministry of Higher Education and universities, activate automation in this field, secure and equip corridors for the wounded within colleges, and equalize students with the martyrs and wounded of the auxiliary forces with the families of the martyrs of the Syrian Arab Army in terms of advantages. And scholarships.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim reviewed during the meeting the legislative decrees and their executive instructions and the decisions of the Higher Education Council that granted benefits to students of the families of martyrs, wounded and missing soldiers in public and private universities in terms of admission rates in colleges at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and a complete exemption for them from University fees and setting a symbolic fee for them in university housing, indicating that the ministry is coordinating with the Ministry of Defense to characterize the auxiliary forces and look into the conditions of their children in universities and the matter is under study by the competent committee.
