Obtaining a gold medal in the first participation and ascending the podium is an indescribable feeling, especially since ambition began to materialize. This is what Muay Thai player Farah Al-Mansour started in her interview with the Sana sports newsletter.

Al-Mansour explained that her winning of the gold medal in the Muay Thai Republic Championship, which was held recently in Damascus, in her first participation, was the beginning of realizing the dream of reaching the national team and representing Syria in international forums.

Al-Mansour, born in 2001, confirmed that she started boxing and kickboxing five years ago and achieved advanced positions in the governorate championships that were held, which were refining and enhancing her ability and love for sport, indicating that she had attracted the muay sport and began training for it six months ago at the Workers Sports Club in Homs under the supervision of specialized trainers.

Al-Mansour pointed out that Muay Thai is similar to kickboxing and increases it with some different movements and rules, which are of Thai origin and require the athlete to have physical strength and high concentration and to think about every step before taking it and decide its results, with attention to the details of each step that must be taken inside the ring.

Al-Mansour concluded by saying that she will continue her sports career, which began with gold, to successive golds in the Arab and Asian championships and to carry the flag of her country in sports forums.

The Homs team won third place in the Republic Championship in Muay Thai, where it achieved three gold medals through Farah Al-Mansour, Mahmoud Al-Saleh and Abdel-Rahman Al-Safawi, and four silver medals for Darine Jbeili, Lamis Khalil, Abdul Rahman Al-Ghanim, Ali Al-Ibrahim and two bronze medals for Rasha Al-Ahmad and Majd Mustafa.
