Today, the People's Assembly, at its fourteenth session of the second regular session held under the chairmanship of Hammouda Sabbagh, Speaker of the Council, approved the formation of a temporary special committee to investigate the issue of the gas well No. 8 in Qara district in Damascus countryside, based on the report of the Council’s office.

The council’s office had presented to the People's Assembly session its report to approve the formation of a temporary special investigation committee on gas well No. 8 in the Qara region, after reviewing some documents related to the matter and its circumstances based on two requests submitted by the People's Assembly members Basim al-Naameh and Wael Melhem, as well as authorizing the council’s office to name The members of the committee and the assistance of any specialists it deems necessary to accomplish its mission, provided that it submits its report on the result to the Chairman of the Council, including its opinion and the result of its work.

After that, the Council approved the draft law that included amending some articles of Law No. 11 of 2011 related to non-Syrians' ownership of real estate in the territories of the Syrian Arab Republic and became a law.

The articles of the draft law included the permissibility of establishing, modifying, or transferring any real real estate right in the territories of the Syrian Arab Republic for the name or for the benefit of a non-Syrian person, whether natural or legal, and the conditions for the class separation of the property in the event of its ability to be secreted and the ownership of diplomatic and consular missions, Arab, regional and international organizations and cultural centers of their headquarters or For the residence of its heads or members.

The articles of the draft law stipulated the conditions for disposing of a non-Syrian who acquired ownership of a property in accordance with the provisions of this law, or who transferred to it by inheritance or will, or by any of the transfer methods, whether the property is located inside or outside the organizational plans of the administrative units and municipalities and the mechanism for transferring ownership of the property to the administration State property in exchange for paying its estimated value in accordance with the provisions of the Acquisition Law.

After the bill was approved, the new civil status law was discussed, which included in its second article, which was approved by the council members, “creating a civil registry center anywhere on the state’s territory by a decision of the minister in accordance with the requirements of the public interest.”

While the third article included that “the head of the civil registry center shall be named by a decision of the minister and he shall be one of the civil workers of the first category, preferably a holder of a license in rights, and those who have technical and administrative experience. One or more assistants shall be called to the head of the center, and he is required to have administrative and technical experience and the priority is for the category First, then second ”.

The session, which was attended by Interior Minister Major General Muhammad Khaled Al-Rahmoun and State for People's Assembly Affairs, Malloul Al-Hussein, was raised to the eleventh hour on Thursday noon.
