The United States today (Wednesday) marked a dismal record in the corona plague raging in its territory as more than half a million deaths have been recorded since the virus broke out in U.S. territory last year.

The United States is the country with the largest death toll in the world, currently standing at 500,804.

The number of infections detected stands at more than 28 million.

But alongside the large numbers, in recent weeks there has been a significant decline in the extent of infection, a decline that is at least partly related to the progress of the vaccination campaign.

In large parts of the United States, the most vulnerable populations were vaccinated and on Monday the United States marked the lowest number of new infections since October, a figure that has fallen in the past two days.

Measures of wearing masks and social alienation, which have been exacerbated since the Biden administration came to power, have also apparently contributed to the decline in data.

But while the decline in the rate of infection provides some degree of optimism, the country's immunization program continues to falter.

President Biden's adviser to the Corona and head of the Center for Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fuchs, today acknowledged that the date when vaccines will be made available to the general population in the United States will be in the second half of May, and not in late April as hoped.

"Speaking of when the vaccine was available to the general population, I was hoping it would happen in late April, hoping we could vaccinate all priority groups. Unfortunately we anticipated that Johnson & Johnson could produce more doses than we now know were actually produced," he admitted. Pucci.

Meanwhile, the United States also fears the possibility of new strains of the corona virus having already begun to spread across the country.

The New York Times reported yesterday that seven strains carrying the same mutation, which is feared to make the virus more contagious, have been identified in various laboratories in the United States and the fear that the mutation originated in the country.
