Authorities in Colombia reported this Wednesday that 70 fraudulent vaccines against covid-19, manufactured in China, were seized at the El Dorado airport in Bogotá.
"The entry of vaccines was restricted to a passenger, who came from a flight from the United Arab Emirates," the Ministry of Health explained in a statement.
In the operation, carried out on February 13, the National Institute of Food and Drug Surveillance (Invima) and the National Tax and Customs Directorate (Dian) participated, according to the text of the Health portfolio.
“The inspection showed that the products entered the country with a foreign language label.
The quantities shown in the packing list are 100 vaccines (vials) and once reviewed it was observed that 70 vaccines arrived.
It was also found that the batch number of the packing list does not coincide with the labeling of the boxes inspected ”, the note details.
The seizure of the fraudulent vaccines occurs on the same day that the country began the vaccination plan against covid-19.
