The BRK Dachau welcomed 184 donors, including 29 first-time donors

to the blood donation appointment in the multi-purpose hall in Petershausen.

The Head of Readiness Markt Indersdorf, Thomas Bauer, and his team are very satisfied with this result.

"We wanted to show that, in addition to our current tasks with corona test smears and the vaccination center, we can also support the blood donation service," reports Thomas Bauer.

The smooth process is also thanks to the innovation that donors can now book appointments online.

Bauer emphasizes: “The online scheduling of appointments worked great.

There were no waiting times and we were able to assign 177 appointments in this way. "

Last year the BRK Dachau started offering blood donations in Petershausen as well.

The first blood donation appointment in June 2020 was a great success.

The BRK district manager Paul Polyfka is also pleased that the blood donation is so well received in the community.

It is very important to him to make it possible for as many people as possible to donate blood.

"As a large community on the district border, we want to take Petershausen into account as well."

The community has actively supported the project from the start.

On-call manager Thomas Bauer used the opportunity to present the local helper (HvO) from the Petershausen community in front of the multi-purpose hall.

Interested citizens were able to inform themselves about the tasks of the volunteer helpers on site from the team.

The HvO had 250 missions in the Petershausen community last year, so it is very busy.

It is therefore Thomas Bauer's goal to win new voluntary members.

He was able to achieve this goal on the day of the blood donation.

"We are happy to have two new members who are now supporting the HvO team in Petershausen," said Bauer.

As one of the two volunteers, Friedemann Hasler can immediately start in the HvO team, as he has already trained at the Lohhof water rescue service.

Sebastian Dirlenbach is still receiving training.
