Numerous faults occurred on the low and medium power lines in separate areas of the countryside and the city in Homs as a result of the rain and snowstorm yesterday and today, as some of them returned to service and others are working on technical workshops to repair and restore them to service.

The Director General of the Homs Electricity Company, Eng. Saleh Omran, stated in a statement to SANA that the damage to the medium voltage lines included (the Nazareth, Zaidel, Al-Rahba, Al-Sabuniyah lines, blankets, double 1, coke, Ain Al-Tanour, Ghazala, Al-Alyat, Tadmur Al-Janoubi, Al-Mushtaha and Homs 1) and all were returned to service with the exception of the airport branch The southern Palmyra line, the al-Midan branch of the Homs 1 line, and the entire Mashtaa line, where workshops are working until the hour to repair them.

Omran explained that the breakdowns of the low-voltage lines were distributed to several areas in the countryside and the city, stressing that a large part of them has been maintained and work is continuing to complete all work.

As for the areas of Shin and Dahr Al-Qusayr in the western Homs countryside, which witnessed heavy snowfall, Homs electricity workshops have completed maintenance work on low and medium voltage lines.

Basil Abbas, head of Hudaydah Electricity Center in the Dahr al-Qusayr region, told a SANA reporter that the center’s workshop worked on fixing all the faults that the low-voltage lines were exposed to as a result of snow and wind in the villages of Hudaydah, Hazor, Janakmara and Battisah al-Jard. The workshop also worked to fix faults on the middle line in Dahr al-Qusayr, Mashta al-Hilu.

In turn, Thabet Khaddour, head of the Shin Electricity Center, indicated that the center's workshop worked to fix faults on the depression (Shin Al-Sinaa), which witnessed a number of diseases due to the accumulation of snow on trees, which led to the occurrence of these diseases near trees, explaining that the faults were fixed on the middle line Shane the station and bring it back to work.
