Ille-et-Vilaine: a mother who has been missing for a week, investigators in the dark

A 42-year-old mother living in Montfort-sur-Meu, in Ille-et-Vilaine, has been missing since Friday, February 12

At least 150 gendarmes are mobilized this Thursday to participate in the search operations which have taken the direction of the northern part of the town.

Mother of four and educator by profession, Magali Blandin has not given any sign of life for over a week.

"On Friday evening, she did not come to pick up her children from school, which is a very important alarm signal"

, underlines the magistrate.

Since the report of his disappearance by a colleague worried about his absence, important investigations have been carried out by the gendarmes of the Ille-et-Vilaine research brigade, to whom the investigation was entrusted under the authority of the Rennes prosecutor's office.

The gendarmes of Ille-et-Vilaine are continuing their research, notably with the mobilization of a team of divers.

Divers also provided their assistance on Monday to probe several wetlands within the search perimeter while a helicopter was still present to accompany the soldiers in their investigations.

Tuesday, the gendarmerie appealed to the population for a beaten in the southern part of Montfort-sur-Meu.

Some 300 people, gendarmes and civilian volunteers, responded.

A helicopter was again deployed and several tracking dogs were present to cover the area.

All the hypotheses are worked on in parallel, no element for the time being allows to privilege one with sufficient certainty

", specifies the prosecutor of Rennes.

And to add that

"the priority is naturally to find this person with all the necessary means".

This Thursday, the research continues, this time in the northern part of the town of just over 6,000 souls.

The area had already been excavated, but it should be further investigated in this case.

The gendarmes also launched a call for witnesses last Saturday to try to find Ms. Blandin.

She is 1.50m tall and has an athletic build.

She has mid-length light brown hair.

At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black three-quarter length coat and brown ankle boots.
