Noise protection on the A 94: It's rumbling again

There is still a rumble in terms of noise protection along the A 94. The SPD in Dorfen wants to finally make those responsible for improving noise protection responsible.

Müller-Ermann has been one of the declared opponents of the extension of the A 94 from the beginning of the planning. He had expected noise pollution, but was “horrified” in October 2019 after the construction, how loud the motorway noise can be heard right in the center of Dorfen.

“I was amazed when I left the house in the morning,” he says.

"It's loud as hell!"

Plain and simple "brutally loud"

It is true that two noise measurements commissioned by the city of Dorfen in the autumn of last year showed no or only marginal exceedance of the limit values ​​or relevant comparative values.

But for Müller-Ermann it is clear: It is a question of the weather conditions.

If these were unfavorable, it would be simply “brutally loud”.

The Dorfener is angry that the sympathy from the ranks of the big politicians has decreased significantly in recent months.

While the Federal Minister of Transport and Prime Minister even took on the matter at the beginning and, for example, obtained a temporary speed limit, support from Munich had fallen asleep since the local elections.

Those affected would be left alone with their problem.

"It was not built according to the state of the art"

“We now know that state-of-the-art technology was not used,” says Müller-Ermann indignantly.

Translated, this means: When it comes to noise protection, not the best has been achieved during construction.

This is exactly what was required in the plan approval procedure.

"That is written law, it must be adhered to," says Müller-Ermann.

Specifically, he is bothered by three points: The road surface is inadequate.

The Plexiglas walls on the bridges would absorb the sound insufficiently and would have to be replaced by highly absorbent material.

And for the suspension of the bridges, an inexpensive but poor solution was found, which is why there is an annoying clacking noise when driving over the crossing.

"It echoes 50,000 times a day across the fields."

Those responsible must meet the requirements of immission control

It is time for those responsible to meet the requirements of the Immission Control Act, demands Müller-Ermann.

The motorway route was realized in a public-private partnership (PPP) - as a cooperation project between the public sector and private companies.

The responsibilities must first be clarified, writes the SPD parliamentary group in its application.

The Dorfen comrades fear that the subject will fizzle out.

You want to commission the city to provide the Federal Ministry of Transport, the Bavarian Ministry of Transport and the government of Upper Bavaria with appropriate funds.

The city council will decide at its next meeting on Wednesday, March 24th, whether Mayor Heinz Grundner (CSU) will actually be sent out on this mission.
