According to the curriculum documents, the current values ​​education involves 7 major values ​​and 11 areas, including national education, "Basic Law Education", life education, etc.

According to the recommendations of the School Curriculum Review Task Force’s report last year, schools should give priority to values ​​education and also proposed to update the 2008 Moral and Civic Education Curriculum Framework to deepen students’ understanding of the country, learn to respect different opinions, love peace and respect the rule of law ; Emphasizes compliance with the law, public and common interests, and distinguishes the authenticity of information.

"Hong Kong 01" found that the Curriculum Development Council has established a "Values ​​Education Standing Committee" to follow up. According to the Council's website, the committee is responsible for recommending or reviewing relevant curriculum policies, advocating new curriculum measures, and ensuring the overall curriculum development direction of values ​​education in primary and secondary schools .

The committee held its first meeting on the 15th of last month. According to the briefing of the meeting, the committee members noted and discussed the drafted "Values ​​Education Curriculum Framework", and they are presenting their opinions on the drafted curriculum framework, including integrating Chinese traditional culture or value elements, how to conduct assessment, "Clarify related myths" to help stakeholders understand concepts and implementation strategies.

The second meeting will be held next Tuesday, which will be held in video format. The discussion agenda includes "primarily fostering the foundation and development of values ​​and attitudes, revising the curriculum framework, and supporting online teaching resources from the Education Bureau."
