Washington-SANA

The US Capitol Police announced that it has suspended six of its officers from work and that it is investigating 29 others over the congressional storming incident that took place on the sixth of last January.

The American "NBC News" quoted a spokesman for the Capitol Police, John Stollnes, as saying that "the Office of Professional Responsibility of this security establishment is investigating the behavior of the 35 officers during the thunderous incident that killed five people, including an officer."

On January 6, hundreds of supporters of former US President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol building in Washington and seized large parts of it in an attempt to prevent lawmakers from certifying the incumbent President Joe Biden's victory in the presidential elections. These riots left five people dead, including a Capitol police officer. Brian Siknick.
