Cars, airlines and railways are hit hard by the health crisis

2021-02-19T19:04:48.889Z

DECRYPTION - Containment, curfews, border closures… The actors whose job is to make their customers travel are the big losers from this pandemic.

All affected, but not in the same way.

As companies communicate their results for fiscal 2020, it becomes clear that the transport sector is paying the heaviest price for the pandemic.

Turnover which falls sharply (- 59% at Air France), abysmal losses never reached so far (8 billion euros for Renault), customers with absent subscribers (- 60% at ADP, which operates in particular the airports of Roissy and Orly)… The big names in mobility are going through a turmoil of unprecedented intensity.

And very few are spared: in early December, Jean-Pierre Farandou, CEO of SNCF, who will unveil its results next week, warned: his company could lose 5 billion.
