Tens of thousands of Hamas members in the Gaza Strip are currently visiting the secret and secure polling stations to elect the Shura Council, the Lebanese newspaper al-Akhbar reported this morning (Friday).

Later on, the council will elect the head of the council (Hamas leader in Gaza) and the head of the political bureau and its members in a hierarchical manner.

According to the report, the internal elections in the terrorist organization are expected to end with the announcement of the elected officials in early April at the end of the vote in Gaza, in the PA territories in Judea and Samaria and in the Palestinian diaspora.

It was also reported that in the wake of the Palestinian parliamentary elections scheduled for May 22, senior Fatah exile Muhammad Dahlan is placing his weight on the Gaza Strip with Egypt and the United Arab Emirates' support. Dahlan previously served as head of preventive security in the Gaza Strip until he fled. In 2007. He then quarreled with Abu Mazen and fled to the United Arab Emirates.

Following Dahlan's announcement yesterday that a shipment of 20,000 Russian-made corona vaccines is on its way to the Gaza Strip, the Lebanese newspaper reports that the ambition is to deliver such a shipment every month.

It was further emphasized that in Cairo they agreed to introduce the shipments through the Rafah crossing.

Dahlan's efforts do not end here and al-Akhbar has learned that the "reformist current" in Fatah is preparing to expand aid to tens of thousands of families in Gaza, including aid projects for married couples and pregnant women worth tens of millions of dollars. Dahlan's men are simultaneously seeking to recruit journalists In addition to the media affiliated with the "reformist current" inside and outside the Gaza Strip. With these measures, Dahlan hopes to increase his power in the Palestinian parliamentary elections, which will help him in the future in the fight for Abu Mazen's successor. Particularly significant.

As for the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah, the Lebanese newspaper reported manipulation in the voter register.

At least 300 voters, most of them from the Hamas-affiliated Hebron district, were surprised to find that their polling address had been changed without asking, hours after the end of the voting period.

This provoked outrage among Hamas, the Democratic Front and the Popular Front who called for an investigation into the affair.
