Kim Kardashian files for divorce from Kanye West: what we know

Kim Kardashian West filed for divorce from Kanye West, a Los Angeles Superior Court clerk confirmed to CNN on Friday.

Christy Welder, representative of Kardashian West, confirmed the divorce request.

Although he noted that Kardashian West has no additional comment.

CNN reached out to Kanye West for comment.

Details of the divorce petition were not immediately available.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, who tied the knot in Italy in 2014 in the middle of a lavish wedding, have lived apart for some time.

West has reportedly been living at her home in Wyoming, while Kardashian West has stayed in California with her children.

The couple met in the early 2000s. However, it would be years before they became romantically involved.
