Moscow-SANA, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin announced that his country is open to dialogue with the United States on matters

Moscow-Sana

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin announced his country's openness to dialogue with the United States on climate issues, with the hope of adopting a non-politicized approach.

Sputnik quoted Vershinin as saying that the Russian side is taking a responsible approach to the issue of combating the negative effects of climate change.

The agency also quoted a source in the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying that Moscow welcomes Washington's return to the Paris climate agreement.

Earlier today, the United States officially announced its return to the Paris climate agreement.

It is noteworthy that US President Joe Biden, hours after he was sworn in as president on the 20th of last month, signed an executive order to return to the Climate Agreement within thirty days of the United States submitting its working paper to the United Nations in this regard, which is the deadline that ends today.

About 200 countries signed the 2015 agreement to combat the disastrous effects of climate change, and the former US administration headed by Donald Trump evaded the agreement in 2017, arguing that it would cost the United States billions of dollars and disrupt the oil, gas and coal industries.
