The Butantan Institute in Brazil said on February 17 that it has tested the Kexing vaccine in China and that the product is effective against the new coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19) variant virus in the United Kingdom and South Africa.
The party said it is also reviewing its effectiveness against the Brazilian variant virus.
Dimas Covas, director of the Butantan Institute, said that the effectiveness of the Coxing vaccine against two variant viruses has been tested with good results.
But he did not provide more details on this.
The Butantan Institute is a partner of China Kexing Biology, and the two have jointly developed a new crown vaccine called "CoronaVac" (CoronaVac).
