He felt bad, and there were warnings from the doctor.

Football coach Florian Harreiner decided to lose weight.

He has now halved his body weight.

And feels in top shape.

Markt Schwaben - The initial spark came around 14 months ago.

Florian Harreiner felt sick, really sick.

No hunger, no appetite, no taste.

Nobody spoke of Corona yet.

"I felt really bad for three weeks," remembers the 34-year-old soccer player.

The visit to the doctor brought the confirmation: values of an over 40-year-old, increased blood sugar.

Harbingers of diabetes, obesity.

No wonder, the player-coach of BSG Markt Schwaben (B-Class Munich) weighed in at a proud 115.4 kilograms - with a body height of 165 centimeters.

The colleagues scoffed: "You can't do that anyway."

There was an antibiotic for quick recovery, but only one thing for perspective: lose weight!

Harreiner's goal: by summer 2020, he wanted to break the 100 kilo mark.

An ambitious goal.

“You just have to overcome your weaker self,” says Markt Schwabener.

Including diet and exercise.

Sayings from colleagues like "You can't do that anyway" provided motivation.

“At first it was a constant struggle to overcome.” The biggest challenge was the size of the portions that he allowed himself.

The pounds dropped in an unexpected way.

After just four months, Florian Harreiner was barely recognizable - around 37 kilograms lighter.

"I would never have thought that it would go so quickly."

When the snow came, he switched to the ergometer

The trained gardener was not satisfied with that.

His plan, which he kept to himself: halving his body weight.

The kicker stayed iron and on the ball. A good year after he had started the fight against the kilos, the time had come.

The scales showed 57.7 kilograms.

Harreiner had trained off half of his starting weight.

He cannot understand that friends and relatives are now worriedly asking him whether he is okay, he looks so bad: “I am fit and feel good about it.” He does not want to jeopardize what has been achieved.

When the snow restricted the few feasible outdoor activities, he switched to the ergometer.

"1500 kilometers since January 15th," he says proudly, "300 last weekend alone."

Harreiner is not afraid that the pleasure pendulum will swing in the opposite direction and cause the infamous yo-yo effect.

“I lost weight eight years ago, eight kilos.

And then put another 25 on it. ”This time it shouldn't happen to him.
