A Franconian brewery causes a stir with a fun advertisement.

The Facebook and Instagram users are enthusiastic, even a moderator commented on the post.

Spalt - looking for temporary help, filling the draft beer into bottles and, if necessary, drinking up the stocks - after this joke advertisement in a carnival newspaper, the phones are no longer silent at the city brewery in Spalt in Central Franconia, around 45 kilometers from Nuremberg *.

Numerous people have applied, some correctly with a résumé.

That said brewery spokesman Markus Böhm on Thursday.

Carnival joke from the Franconian brewery goes viral: "Tap experience and drinkability are an advantage"

The

Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation

had previously

reported on the joking advertisement in the Spalter carnival

newspaper Razet-Bote

.

This is now also making the rounds on social media - but without the indication that this is fun.

Since Wednesday the whole thing has gone through the roof, said Böhm.

There are now two of them at the brewery answering calls and emails.

The ad, which according to the brewery's Facebook page was supposed to be a carnival joke, read: “This year the demand for beer has shifted significantly due to the closed pubs - away from the barrel and towards the bottle!

For this reason the city brewery Spalt is looking for temporary help on a 450 euro basis.

Your tasks include decanting draft beer into bottles, then corking them and, in an emergency, drinking stocks.

Tapping experience and drinkability are an advantage. "

Facebook users are thrilled

“I've been doing this on a voluntary basis for years,” jokes someone on the brewery's Facebook post.

“We're all happy to come by and help empty the barrels on site,” said another Facebook user.

"From an 'emergency' they had me," wrote the page "Pearls of Local Journalism", which shared the ad on Instagram.

Many commentators spoke of a "dream job", even the presenter Ruth Moschner was enthusiastic: "Dream!"

Corona crisis hits small breweries in Bavaria in particular: Sales plummeted dramatically

The corona crisis is particularly affecting the small breweries in the Free State.

Because of the closed restaurants and the ban on public festivals, they lose up to 70 percent of their sales, according to the Bavarian Brewers' Association.

If possible, breweries are therefore increasingly bottling their beer in order to sell it in stores.

So that beer bought before the lockdown doesn't go bad, some innkeepers are currently giving away the kegs or selling them for less.

Others give them back to the breweries.

According to Böhm, no beer kegs are stacked at the brewery in Spalt (Roth district).

"But it could happen if the lockdown lasts longer and the beer comes back."
