The Finance Committee of the Legislative Council convened today (19th) to discuss the Tung Chung New Town expansion plan and related engineering proposals. The 3 proposals involved a total of about 23.4 billion yuan. The final project received 29 votes in favor, 1 vote against, and 0 votes. Abstaining passed.

In addition, the Public Works Subcommittee of the Legislative Council approved an additional funding for the main bridge of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge at the end of last month, involving about 1.51 billion yuan. The additional funding was approved by the Finance Committee today. The current overall funding for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has increased to 10.56 billion yuan.

Legislative Council Member Tian Beichen pointed out that the "P1 Highway" still needs to be connected to the Tsing Ma Bridge, worrying that the North Lantau Highway will be very congested in the future.
