Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin discussed with the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Syria Geir Pedersen, the situation in Syria.
"The two sides discussed last night in detail the current situation in and around Syria within the framework of advancing the political process led and implemented by the Syrians themselves with the help of the United Nations, as stipulated in UN Security Council Resolution 2254," the Russian Foreign Ministry stated in a statement published on its website today.
