More than 40 kilos of heroin and cocaine were seized and six people arrested in the Yonne, two of whom had returned from the Netherlands, the prosecution said on Friday (February 19).

Acting on rogatory commission by virtue of a judicial investigation opened in March 2020 for drug trafficking, the local gendarmerie seized at the beginning of the week 2.5 kilos of cocaine and 38 kilos of heroin in various homes in the region of Saint- Florentin (Yonne), a village located between Troyes and Auxerre which is illustrated by extensive trafficking, explained to AFP the prosecutor of the Republic of Auxerre, Hugues de Phily.
Two thousand ecstasy pills and more than 4000 euros in cash were also seized, as well as a sports car. Six people were arrested, two of whom were returning from the Netherlands. Some are known for drug trafficking, said the same source. Aged 20 to 30, they were all to have been referred Friday for indictment.
