The Valley community still has homework to do for flood protection in Oberdarching.
Now the planning for it begins.
Valley
- Oberdarching is one of the hot spots in the Valley community when the water no longer seeps into the ground during prolonged heavy rain, but floods roads and properties.
That is why there is already a retention basin there to keep the village stream in check.
But its volume is not always sufficient.
The dam should therefore be increased.
The Kokai engineering office will determine what this could look like in concrete terms and what costs the community must expect.
The Valley City Council has now awarded the contract for 16,000 euros.
Specifically, it is about the practical implementation, as Mayor Bernhard Schäfer (FWG) explains on request.
The experts from the office in Polling near Weilheim have already drawn up a flood protection concept for Valley and suggested raising the retention basin as a first measure.
An unfinished homework that became acute again during the floods in August last year.
This year, however, there will be no more construction.
The town hall chief expects the implementation around the middle of next year.
That is how long the planning and approval process will likely take.
