The cross-harbour section of the East Rail Line still aims to open to traffic in the first quarter of next year. The MTR will add new tracks to allow East Rail Line trains to enter the new platform of Hung Hom Station.

Following the suspension of the full-day service from Mong Kok East to Hung Hom Station on the 10th last month for related works, the MTR will again suspend full-day service on the relevant road section tomorrow (21st).

The MTR will provide free shuttle buses from Kowloon Tong to Hung Hom Station, and there will also be special ticketing arrangements.

Except tomorrow, the MTR expects to suspend the relevant sections 8 times in the future, the next time it will be in April, but the exact date has yet to be announced.

KMB also predicts that the passenger flow between New Territories East and the urban area will increase tomorrow. It will pay attention to the use of seven direct routes to and from Hong Kong Island in the North District, Tai Po, Sha Tin, and Ma On Shan.

The East Rail Line will temporarily suspend services from Mong Kok East to Hung Hom Station tomorrow, and the southbound line will terminate at Mong Kok East.

West Rail passengers can use the Octopus to leave the gate tomorrow at Hung Hom Station, free of fare

In response to the suspension of train services from Mong Kok East to Hung Hom on the East Rail Line tomorrow, the MTR will continue to use the same special ticketing arrangements as the last stop.

Passengers using the Octopus tomorrow will be able to enjoy half or even the entire journey for free if they leave the gate at Hung Hom Station and continue their journey via the shuttle bus.

West Rail passengers who do not need to take the shuttle bus can also enjoy free fare as long as they exit the gate at Hung Hom Station, but they will not be benefited if they use a one-way ticket.

As for passengers who use Kowloon Tong to exit the gate and take the shuttle bus to Hung Hom Station to connect the East and West Rail, if they use an Octopus to exit the gate, they will only charge the fare for the Kowloon Tong gate.

MTR launched a QR code payment gate on the 23rd of last month. Passengers who use a one-way ticket, metropolitan ticket or QR code to exit at Kowloon Tong must exit at the designated gate to enjoy the free second journey. .

However, when the station stopped last month, 480 people had their fares wrongly deducted and had to go to the MTR Customer Service Center to make up for it.

KMB also stated today that it has seen the suspension of train services from Mong Kok East Station to Hung Hom Station on the East Rail Line. It is expected that the passenger flow between New Territories East and the urban area may increase. It will pay attention to the use of the 7 routes from New Territories East to Hong Kong Island , To meet the demand with appropriate traffic mobilization.
