The Federal Agency for Real Estate Tasks, or Bima for short, wants to create a lot of new living space in Murnau.
What that could look like was shown by two architecture firms on Thursday in the market town council.

The major project was presented to the municipal council on Thursday.
A decision for one of the designs has not yet been made.

This has big plans in Murnau.
Namely, to create more living space on the area on Reschstrasse.
There are currently six buildings with 30 apartments.
But the objects built in 1936 are no longer up to date.

Flashback: On September 21, 2018, the residential summit took place in the Federal Chancellery.
A joint housing offensive was decided by the federal, state and local governments.
The aim is to make housing construction easier, to counteract the shortage of building land and to dampen the rise in prices for building land, construction costs and rents.
It made sense for Bima to become active on the approximately 10,000 square meter area on Reschstrasse.
Initially, the market town had expressed interest in acquiring the area.
Selling the Bima was out of the question, but it made it clear that it wanted to do something on the site itself.
The Murnau architecture firm Kottermair Rebholz emerged as the winner in a planning competition, closely followed by the firm PSA Pfletscher and Steffan (Munich).
Offices present ideas
Both presented their ideas to the market town council on Thursday evening.
In both designs, the old building is being torn down and replaced by new buildings.
At Kottermair Rebholz, the bottom line is 87 apartments of various sizes, at PSA 108.
Build three or four storeys?
The question of whether the building should be four-story or lower aroused debate in the committee.
For market builder Klaus Tworek, this is a fundamental question.
Because you create a reference case.
Building a four-storey building "wouldn't hurt Murnau," said Michael Hosp (CSU).
In the immediate vicinity, the houses are relatively high anyway, he said in a general sense.
However, Welf Probst (Free Voters) advised restraint.
“If we want to maintain the character of Murnau, we have to stay in the direction we are now.” For Phillip Zoepf, parliamentary group spokesman for Mehr Bewegen, the question arises, “What suits Murnau best.
That must not be tied to the number of apartments alone. ”Bima employee Missio-Däumling is“ torn back and forth ”with regard to the number of floors, as she told the daily newspaper.
"But I would have no problem staying with three." It is important "that it becomes something beautiful, that nature is involved".
Multiple sections
The apartments are for federal, state.
and community workers thought.
But if any are left, they can also be rented to other interested parties.
You don't go beyond the lower limit of the local rents, says Missio-Däumling.
The plans are to be implemented gradually so that none of the tenants will be on the street.
Still no decision
It was originally planned that the local council would decide on a draft.
But at the suggestion of CSU parliamentary group spokesman Rudolf Utzschneider, it was decided to do so later.
Now the major project should come back on the agenda in a month.
Missio-Thäumling has no problem with it: “Thinking time is always good.” One thing is clear: the project will take years.
