Advisor to the Iranian President Hosam Eddin Ashna stressed that the main issue for his country is to oblige the United States to implement Security Council Resolution 2231 and lift the unjust embargo imposed on his country.
Ashna wrote in a tweet on Twitter that the main issue for Iran is always to oblige America and other signatories to the nuclear agreement to implement Security Council Resolution 2231 and lift the international embargo, not to demand the United States return to the ended negotiations on the agreement.
Resolution 2231, issued by the UN Security Council unanimously in 2015, adopted the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action for the nuclear agreement, but the administration of former US President Donald Trump violated this decision by announcing its unilateral withdrawal from the agreement on May 8, 2018.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif reiterated that Iran was ready to resume all its obligations under the nuclear deal in the event that the US sanctions were lifted and all parties abided by their commitments, indicating at the same time that US President Joe Biden did not change the maximum pressure policy pursued by his predecessor, Donald Trump. He only made allegations, and this policy is useless towards Iran.
