After 17 years behind bars, Zeev Rosenstein, the former number one target of the police, is expected to be released from prison today.
This is after the prosecution announced that it would not appeal the decision of the Parole Board at the Prison Service to shorten his sentence.
Rosenstein is expected to be released on restrictive conditions, including electronic restraint supervision.
He ran his sentence for drug offenses and conspiracy to commit murder.

He was due to be released in about eight months, but the parole board was under the impression that "the years he spent in prison, the treatment he underwent in recent years and his medical condition did cause him a change of consciousness and his release does not endanger public safety." The report submitted to the committee also states that "the years in prison and his adult age caused him to moderate within the prison walls."
