After the Poissy incident last weekend, the police were again taken to task this Saturday in nine municipalities of the department

The whole department is concerned.

After the violence of last week, the tension has still not gone down in the Yvelines.

Mortar fire, throwing projectiles, rebellions, contempt and non-compliance with the curfew… This Saturday, episodes of urban violence took place in nine municipalities.

The police were almost always taken to task.

Eight people were arrested and taken into police custody.

In Meulan, tensions appeared in the early afternoon when around thirty people were evicted from the city's stadium due to health restrictions.

Unhappy, the young people then surrounded the police van, shook it and threw projectiles.

There are no casualties.

Projectile throws and ambushes

At the beginning of the evening in Sartrouville, it is still jets of projectiles that receive the police.

Faced with a dozen people, they managed to leave the premises without damage.

The same scenario is repeated in La Celle-Saint-Cloud and Clayes-sous-Bois.

A little later, around 10:45 p.m., it was the emergency police crew who fired a mortar at Carrières-sur-Seine.

An individual was also arrested for using narcotics.

During the night, the violence continues.

Around midnight in Trappes, a garbage can fire attracted the police to rue Hector-Berlioz.

When they arrive, young people throw “five or six” mortar rounds at them but miss the target each time.

The officers responded with fire from a defense bullet, causing the individuals to flee.

In Pecq, it is a control for non-compliance with the curfew that ended in rebellion.

While eight people were posted at the bottom of a building on avenue des Vignes-Benettes, two of them refused to be checked.

Aged 16 and 24, the young people were taken into custody.

A police officer was slightly injured during the intervention.

Young people also tried to surround the workforce in Plaisir.

Finally in Guyancourt, five teenagers aged 18 to 22 were arrested because they were committing damage to cars around 3 am.

A week after the Poissy incident

After the ambush tense last weekend in Poissy which caused a lot of noise, the city seems to be one of the few where there was no violence during the night from Saturday to Sunday.

Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin himself came Monday evening to support the police officers taken to task.

The unions, which point to the daily recurrence of these facts, are calling for better intervention equipment.

In particular, fire-resistant clothing to prevent clothing from catching fire on contact with mortar.
