According to the assessments carried out by the iFrap, a week of strict containment, as last spring, costs France 16 billion euros: 5 billion additional public spending and 11 billion impact on national wealth due to the cessation of certain activities.

A little more flexible confinement, like that of last November, certainly costs less, but it remains considerable: 7 billion per week.

The impact on employment is enormous: a week of strict confinement threatens nearly 70,000 jobs and a week of more flexible confinement, 30,000.
