The Board of Trustees of the Jewish Agency, which convenes this week in the shadow of a year for Corona, will adopt "an outline for the continued immigration to Israel and for the rehabilitation of communities in Israel and around the world."
At the base - a comprehensive program for the immigration of doctors and medical professionals who will join the Israeli health system against the background of dealing with the challenges of the corona.
The conference will be held virtually, with the participation of hundreds of leaders of Jewish communities.
In 2020, about 950 medical and pre-medical professionals immigrated to Israel, including more than 300 doctors who immigrated from around the world with the assistance of the Jewish Agency.
Following this, the agency decided to develop and expand unique programs for immigrant physicians, under which medical personnel will be comprehensively accompanied until their rapid integration into hospitals and clinics across the country.
Medical professionals will be able to start studying Hebrew abroad, and upon arrival in Israel they will be integrated into joint programs with the Ministry of Aliyah and Absorption and the Ministry of Health and as part of a government and Jewish Agency travel project. .
The outline formulated by the agency also refers to the continued flow of immigration against the background of growing interest in Israel in the corona year.
According to the outline, the agency will continue the aid and rescue operations of immigrants from around the world.
At the same time, immigration programs for young academics will be developed in collaboration with government ministries and employers.
