From the conquest of space to the digital age… When it was presented in New York in 1960, the Bulova Accutron was the most modern watch of its time.
It will be such a success, with its movement of electrostatic energy, that it will be found on the wrist of a certain Elvis Presley, who also often wore, until in some of his films, a Hamilton Ventura.
How did this strange-named Accutron work?
The electrostatic energy was created by twin turbines rotating with the movements of the wrist.
The energy stored in an accumulator drove two motors, one electrostatic feeding the fluid second hand, the other feeding the hour and minute hands.

Accutron
Until the end of its production in 1977, this futuristic timepiece has sold several million copies.
So much so that, more than six decades later, Citizen decided to make Bulova's Accutron a brand in itself, notably through new Spaceview.
This time it's a Legacy
