Around 1.30 a.m., a stray touring enthusiast reported.
He had wanted to drive back to his car at the Taubensteinbahn valley station, but got lost.
As it turned out later, it was not a beginner, but “an experienced and well-equipped ski tourer”, as Lorenz Haberle, deputy on-call manager of the Schliersee mountain rescue service, says.
It took some time until the 70-year-old from the Dachau area was found.
Touring enthusiasts were hopelessly lost
First the emergency services looked in the area Taubenstein, Miesing, Kleintiefental.
Support was provided by the Hausham mountain rescue service vehicle and a helicopter with a thermal imaging camera.
Haberle himself was in constant cell phone contact with the lost man, but at first he could not say more precisely where he was.
The mountain watchmen expanded the area of operation and looked further west in the Ruchenköpf and Maroldschneid area, so long ago on the Bayrischzeller Flur.
Finally, the 70-year-old reported - it was already getting dark - that he could see the state road to Landl.
So he was headed in the completely wrong direction.
The Bayrischzeller Bergwacht finally found the man and brought him unharmed into the valley.
The mission was not over until 7 a.m.
Ten mountain rescue workers from Schliesee, eight from Bayrischzell and three from Hausham had moved out, as well as a person from the Alpine Police Force and the helicopter crew.
Miesbacher falls on the Roßkopf and dislocates his shoulder
Another rescue operation was completed a little faster on Friday evening.
A 47-year-old Miesbacher slipped on the extremely steep slope between Roßkopf and Grünsee and dislocated his shoulder.
The report came in around 8 p.m.
With a vehicle, such as the ATV of the mountain rescue service, there was no getting there.
According to Haberle, the emergency services needed crampons to get to the injured person.
Here, too, a helicopter was needed, which was provided with a winch in the parking lot of the Stümpflingbahn - illuminated by the local fire brigade.
With the help of the mountain rescue doctor from the Bayrischzell comrades, the helicopter was finally able to get the injured person out of the slope.
He came to Agatharied Hospital.
In addition to six mountain watchmen and the crew of the police helicopter, an employee of the Alpine Railways also helped.
He brought material and personnel upstairs with a snowcat.
According to Haberle, the mission ended around 11 p.m.
