The government of Panama announced that next week it will receive its third batch of coronavirus vaccines from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer-BioNTech.
This was announced this Friday by the country's Deputy Minister of Health, Ivette Berrío.
There would be 77,200 doses of vaccines that would be received in the week that begins on February 22, said the official at a press conference broadcast on the national network.
In this way, he assured that the regularization of the delivery by the pharmaceutical company Pfizer is achieved.
In that sense, he explained that this will allow Panama's vaccination plan to continue.
Second batch of Pfizer vaccines against covid-19 arrived in Panama
On January 20, the country received its first batch of Pfizer vaccines, with 12,840 doses.
Then, on February 17, he had the second delivery from the same company, with 67,860 doses.
At the moment it has been possible to vaccinate health personnel in the front line of battle against the coronavirus.
And, in recent days, to the rest of the non-prioritized health and support personnel, as well as the elderly who are in bed.

Although so far all the vaccines received are from Pfizer-BioNTech, Berrío said that the negotiating team of the government of Panama is in talks with other vaccine development companies on a permanent basis.
This to obtain the largest number of doses necessary.
In that sense, Ivette Berrío reported that they have been receiving information about the schedules that the Astrazeneca company will establish.
"We still do not have a delivery date, but we are in these conversations," said the deputy minister.
