Today, the Russian health authorities registered the first home-made examination system for diagnosing infections with the British strain of Coronavirus.
"The new system can diagnose two mutations inherent in the British strain of the virus by means of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test," Russia Today quoted the head of the Federal Health Care Authority, Ala Samoilova, as saying in a statement.
Samoilova indicated that the new examination system was developed by the Kulakov National Center for Research in Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine of the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the DNA Technologies Corporation, confirming that it showed high efficacy during the tests.
Last month, the Russian authorities announced the registration of the first infection with the new strain of the mutated Corona virus, which Britain announced that it had discovered an outbreak on its soil and appeared in a Russian citizen who had returned from Britain.
Last December, the British authorities were forced to re-impose restrictions aimed at curbing the spread of the Corona virus, after the outbreak of the new strain was detected in parts of England, including the capital, London.
And the new strain, which is more likely to spread, has since spread to dozens of countries.
