Tel Aviv District Court sentenced Tesfberhan Tesfzion, a foreign national from Eritrea, to 12 years in prison and sentenced to 12 years in prison for raping and raping a 12-year-old girl. His ex-wife, about two years ago and raped violently while causing bodily harm.
As part of the mediation process, Tesfzion admitted the charges, and at the same time the prosecution removed the other offenses from the indictment - aggravated assault, threats and obstruction of justice.
According to the indictment, during the period of their marriage, Tesfatsion lived with Silvana's mother in an apartment in the Hatikva neighborhood of Tel Aviv and used severe financial and physical violence against the mother, until she decided to divorce him and he left the apartment.
After the divorce, following the complainant's fear of the defendant, she changed the locks of the apartment and the building, which doubled new keys for her neighbors in the building, and asked them not to let the defendant into the building.
A few days before the incident in December 2018, Tesfazion ambushed and followed Tsagai to harass and threaten her when he appeared at her workplace.
On the day of the incident, Silvana was alone in the apartment, Tesfatzion broke into her while her mother was at work, strangled him and dropped her on her bed, while she was fighting him.
He undressed and raped her and when he finished he strangled her to death and left the apartment.
He threw his pants and underwear in the apartment, hid Silvana's cell phone and keys, as well as his phone and the money he was withdrawing.
Towards evening, Silvana's mother tried to contact her following Tesfasion's threats over the past few days.
When she did not get it, she asked her neighbors to check on her - and they said that the apartment door was locked.
The mother returned to her home, where she found her daughter lying in bed, lifeless, and signs of violence on her face and body.
Tesfzion hid in the Carmel Market area of Tel Aviv, until he was captured and arrested two days later.
