But then she experienced an unprecedented day of chaos in the vaccination center.
Gauting - It sounded so reassuring: After Helma Berger had been hoping for an appointment at the district vaccination center since January, it should be on Friday.
On Thursday, the Gilching woman and her neighbor, both 83 years old, were given appointments by telephone every half an hour.
However, both women are still not vaccinated, instead they stood close to each other and in the rain in a long line with many others, some of whom had appointments at the same time.

She herself waited an hour on the premises of the Asklepios Clinic in Gauting - standing, because apart from two chairs, no seats were brought to those waiting.
Hans-Georg Sperl from Herrsching finds clear words.
His wife was also there with his 87-year-old mother on Friday and had to stand in the rain.
“Only those who were in a wheelchair could sit,” says Sperl, calling the organization “absolutely bumbling and shameful”.
Like the two women from Gilching, his mother also drove home without having achieved anything.
Neither of them received a vaccination against the coronavirus.
Corona vaccination: 200 appointments in one day
District spokeswoman Barbara Beck asks for understanding.
“We have to improve, we know that,” she says.
In the beginning there was only a little vaccine, "there was little going on".
There were 200 appointments on Friday.
“That was too much.” To top it all off, those to be vaccinated “came much too early”.
And then it rained and chairs were in short supply.
At noon the situation relaxed.
Beck: "It's just a huge challenge." Next week there may be alternatives to vaccination outlets.
