Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif reiterated that Iran does not seek to possess nuclear weapons and has nothing to hide, stressing that it is ready to resume all its obligations under the nuclear agreement in the event that US sanctions are lifted and all parties abide by their obligations.
In an interview with Iranian Press TV today, Zarif said that the voluntary suspension of the additional protocol in the nuclear agreement does not constitute a violation of it. "We have reduced our pledges and at the same time we confirmed that we are able to return quickly."
Zarif indicated that it is possible to start talks with Washington when sanctions are lifted and all parties implement their obligations under the agreement, indicating that US President Joe Biden did not change the policy of maximum pressure adopted by his predecessor Donald Trump and only submitted allegations and this policy is useless towards Iran.
Zarif said, according to the law, we will continue our policies and raise the level of enrichment ... We now have 4 thousand kilograms of enriched uranium, and within two months we will enrich more than 20 percent ... America must know that Iran will get what it wants according to the agreement and that we have entered into negotiations. For several goals, the most important of which is ending the lies about our pursuit of nuclear weapons and ending the economic embargo imposed on us.
Zarif pointed out that Europe's claims about Iran's nuclear program are hypocrisy and double standards, as it did not express any concern about (Israel) expanding the Dimona reactor, which is the only nuclear center in the region for the manufacture of nuclear bombs, while it is artificially concerned about Iran's peaceful nuclear program and is evasive in order to reach an agreement This will not happen again.
