2021-02-22T10:43:15.761Z

For the first time, last November, the rivalry between the Porte de Saint-Ouen and that of Clignancourt, in Paris, left one dead: Yho

Not a flower.

No word.

No photo either.

The rue du Général-Henrys has regained its calm.

Yet it is there, in front of number 7 of this unsightly little artery of the 17th arrondissement of Paris on November 30, 2020, that Yhoann, just 18 years old, breathed his last at the foot of a brick building, victim of a war between neighborhoods.

Because for years, young people from the Porte de Saint-Ouen have been opposed to other young people from the Porte de Clignancourt, which is exactly 1.2 km away.

"It is especially between the 17th and the 18th arrondissement", relates a great from the Porte de Saint-Ouen.

In the days following Yhoann's death, he set up a collective called “Protect our neighborhoods” and he organized a white march.

“It was the first time that there was a dead person under these circumstances here,” he explains.

In this street, HLM and private accommodation.

"It is not a city", notes this big brother.

"He was a good youngster"

The origin of this drama remains unclear.

"Nonsense," he thinks he knows.

Insults, on social networks, then a desire to calm things down.

“That evening, at the start, they saw each other to discuss.

It is an ego conflict that has degenerated, ”he continues.

The palaver ended in blood and tears.

Yhoann had been living in the neighborhood since he was 14, with his aunt.

“But it was as if he had grown up here, he played indoor soccer with us, he was a good youngster.

"

The days that followed, in early December, tensions flared between the two neighborhoods.

The reprisals did not take long.

On December 1, a teenager was stabbed at the Porte de Clignancourt.

Several brawls were also recorded around mid-December, still against a backdrop of revenge.

This retaliation could have resulted in another death on December 4.

That day, they are exported to the 13th at random from a meeting.

Two teenagers from the Porte de Saint-Ouen discuss the death of Yhoann with a young person from the Porte de Clignancourt.

"He answered them:

I don't care, it's well done for you

", relates a local resident.

Running pursuit.

Descent into Tolbiac metro station.

The youngster was caught in a row 7 oar and was stabbed near the carotid artery.

Its vital prognosis is not engaged.

The next fortnight were tense.

“Residents of the Porte de Saint-Ouen, on the 18th district, walked to the Porte de Clignancourt to take the metro so as not to enter the 17th district,” continues a major from the district.

It is a story of territory.

It's like a border between two countries at war.

"

"They only represent a minority"

“These are young people who go to the same schools, they only represent a minority in these neighborhoods.

In addition, they are young people whose parents take care of them, ”continues the founder of the collective.

Nevertheless, according to an agent of the City who works as a mediator, "every week we have feedback on the risk of brawls".

“We work in conjunction with our team from the 18th district to prevent risks.

There are also social media watchings.

"

So high in the atmosphere this threat of seeing violent gangs do battle, in reality, these two neighborhoods today offer a calm face.

The boss of a halal butcher's shop notes: “Since I've been here in 2013, there has never been a problem.

In the beginning there were sometimes a few groups of young people.

But now, it's quiet and with the curfew, nothing happens in the evening.

This feeling is the same in most businesses and among residents.

And among those first concerned, adolescents, the concern is elsewhere.

"It is especially with the Porte d'Asnières (17th) that there are concerns, it's crazy," says a 14-year-old.

In January 2020, a teenager from the latter district was stabbed by young people from the Porte de Saint-Ouen.
