An engineer who killed a SPA dog in 2017 near Caen, while suffering from side effects after taking drugs against Parkinson's, was found guilty with impaired control of his actions, announced Monday 22 February his lawyer.

He was found guilty and sentenced to a fine of 500 euros by the Criminal Court of Caen, but the judgment recognized the alteration of his discernment and / or the control of his acts
", indicated Me Dominique Mari, who expresses his “
satisfaction and relief
”.
The man will also have to compensate the civil party associations up to 200 euros each.

The prosecution had requested a one-year suspended prison sentence for the 53-year-old father of four.
On April 1, 2017, the man, then number two at the Renault Trucks plant in Blainville-sur-Orne (1,200 employees), gave a barking dog a violent blow with a screwdriver at the Verson SPA, near Caen, where he had gone with his wife and daughter.
The defendant was convicted in June and July 2018 for acts of cruelty to cats he committed at night.
He then changed treatment at the end of June 2018.
His doctor took stock every three months with him, asking him if he had side effects such as hypersexuality or addiction to games but not if he had impulses against animals, had explained the defendant to the hearing in mid-December, acknowledging having dealt the fatal blow to the dog but claiming not to have intended to kill him.
Several expertises have shown that the man suffered from April 2017 to June 2018 from the side effects of drugs against Parkinson's, Requip and Neupro.
At the helm, the defendant's wife had described "
hell
" lived since the media coverage of the cat affair, the threats received at their home and at her own workplace, "
relentlessness
" on social networks against her husband, the removal of the family, the dismissal of her husband for serious misconduct.

," said Defense lawyer Dominique Mari, pleading for release.
